Alongside haberdashery we run a jewellery and findings department. You will find both finished brooches and chain by the metre, clasps and components to build your own design.
Brooches
Rhinestone brooches in animal and botanical motifs — zebra, flamingo, seahorse, flowers. They are back in fashion as a decoration for a jacket, coat, scarf or handbag.
They also make a rewarding gift — no need to know a size, and the effect is striking.
Chain by the metre
Jewellery chain in gold, silver, copper and black finishes, in many weaves and gauges — from delicate ones for pendants to heavy ones for belts and bag handles.
We sell by the metre, so you can buy exactly what you need instead of a ready-made necklace at a fixed length.
Findings and clasps
Lobster clasps, jump rings, earring hooks, extenders, beads and cabochons. Everything needed to assemble a necklace or repair a broken bracelet.
What they are used for
- Making jewellery — necklaces, bracelets and earrings from scratch.
- Repairs — replacing a clasp, shortening a chain, replacing a broken link.
- Clothing accessories — brooches, chains as belts and bag decorations.
- Craft and gifts — components for personal projects and workshops.
How to choose
- Match the chain to the pendant’s weight. A delicate weave will not hold a heavy pendant.
- Check the links open. Self-assembly needs a chain with links that can be prised apart.
- Look at the finish. Electroplating wears with time — for everyday jewellery choose a sturdier option.
- Brooches need substantial fabric. A heavy brooch on fine silk will leave a pin mark.
